Why We Exist
The Will Lawyer, P.A. (d/b/a The Will Lawyers) was founded in 2014 by attorney William “Bill” Kilpatrick, who saw firsthand how confusing, expensive, and emotionally draining estate, trust and probate matters can be for families. His goal was to create a law firm built on:

More than a decade later, our firm has grown to a team of three attorneys and a dedicated support staff—but our purpose has stayed the same:

Founder & Lead Attorney
Bill founded The Will Lawyer, P.A. after practicing in multiple areas of law and recognizing a deep community need for estate planning, probate, and trust-administration services delivered with clarity and compassion. -

Franz W. Chevannes, Jr.
Attorney At Law
Franz was raised in Broward County, FL where he played competitive soccer from a young age all the way through to Florida Atlantic University on an athletic scholarship. He later attended and graduated law school in Orlando at Barry University School of Law -

Patti and Bill have been a force to be reckoned with for 14 years now. She has been with Bill since his early days at Fleet, Spencer & Kilpatrick (now Fleet, Smith & Freeman). -

Kara is a native of Niceville, Florida. After graduating from Niceville High School, she pursued her academic aspirations at Arizona State University, where she discovered her passion for justice and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies.

Kaymleh Roberts
Accountant
Kaymleh has worked with Bill now for 8 years. He was actually a client of hers when she worked for an accounting firm way back when. She has been on staff with The Will Lawyer, P.A. for the last 3 years, and she is the perfect asset to our team.

Miranda Dodson
Marketing Director
With an associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Northwest Florida State College, Miranda has always had a passion for the legal field. She began her career as an in-office legal assistant but transitioned to a marketing role after the birth of her daughter.

Tori is originally from Belle Plaine, Kansas and has been in the Destin area for almost a year and a half. Not long after she moved to Destin, she blessed us with her presence and began working with us here at The Will Lawyer, P.A.

Originally from Alabama, Tara made Florida her home back in 2010. She's been married to her high school sweetheart for 12 years, and together they're raising a beautiful daughter who keeps life full of laughter and adventure.

Alice Hughey
Legal Assistant
Alice is 23 years old and recently made the big move from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she lived her entire life. Ever since she turned 18, she’s had a strong desire to travel and explore new places — and after several vacations to Destin that quickly became her favorite — she decided to take the leap and make the Emerald Coast her home. She moved down here with just herself and her adorable heeler pup, Luna, while her large, loving family continues cheering her on from Indy.
